The Terme di Monticelli spa is among the few in Italy to have two mineral waters, one bromine-bromine-iodine and one sulfide, obtaining from the Ministry of Health the highest classification “First Level Super” for the quality of thermal cures.
It is precisely the efficacy of these beneficial spring waters, combined with functional facilities and highly trained staff, that makes it possible to offer a wide range of therapies and treatments that play an important role in health advocacy in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation phases.
The Monticelli Spa specializes in the treatment and prevention of diseases affecting therespiratory, auditory, musculoskeletal, and circulatorysystems, thanks to a major therapeutic offering that includes inhalation treatments, mud-balneotherapy, whirlpools, water walkers , and a wide range of other health, therapeutic, and spa services.
Thermal cures, which can be carried out either privately or in agreement with the National Health Service, intervene in the prevention and treatment of numerous chronic diseases such as bronchitis, sinusitis and otitis, as well as arthritis, rheumatic pains, phlebopathies, peripheral vasculopathies and venous insufficiencies.
The large area dedicated to breath care takes advantage of the important and beneficial effects of Monticelli’s scientifically documented salsobromoiodic waters, which are used for the delivery of all major inhalation therapies and irrigations, such as aerosols, inhalations, humages, pulverizations, insufflations, nasal showers, and many others.
The department of the spa, equipped with more than 120 individual stations, welcomes numerous patients every day, who carry out treatments independently and in the utmost hygiene, supported by specialized operators.
Inhalation treatments can also be carried out in the indoor departments of the Spa Hotel and Rose Hotel, with an additional 70 stations set up for inhalation and aerosol.
Concretely addressing issues that limit movement, such as rheumatic pain or due to arthritis, tendinitis, and localized inflammation, is possible with mud-balneotherapy, a natural method that is among the oldest, best-known, and most effective spa practices.
Mud baths act on the affected areas with an important myorelaxant and analgesic action.
Baths, performed in warm salso-bromo-iodine water, when combined with hydro-massage, are particularly indicated for rheumatic and peripheral venous diseases of the lower limbs.
Thermal therapy is indicated for the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, phlebopathy, and circulatory disorders, which are responsible for swelling, heaviness, and dilated capillaries in the legs, especially among women.
At Monticelli Spa, it is possible to prevent and treat these ailments and promote immediate improvement in one’s condition, thanks to the synergistic action of whirlpools, walking with gymnastics and lymphatic drainage that stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic systems, toning and relieving the lower limbs.
Frequent upper airway inflammation, including colds, sinusitis, and other nose and throat disorders, can seriously affect the daily well-being of adults and children and tend to become chronic, especially due to external factors such as urban pollution.
To improve quality of life, ensure optimal rest, and minimize the use of medication throughout the year, Monticelli Spa uses specific treatments such as insufflations and irrigations, taking advantage of the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and purifying properties of the salsobromoiodine thermal water.
Vaginal irrigation is a therapeutic treatment using salso-bromo-iodine waters of thermal origin.
Salso-bromo-iodine water provides effective anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, cleansing and decongestant action of the female genital tract.
This makes it possible to combat all kinds of chronic inflammation of the vagina, cervix, fallopian tubes, and endometrium, by virtue of both local and general action on hormonal activity.
All Italian citizens are entitled, once in a year, to a 12-day course of spa treatment paid for by the National Health Service (any other courses of treatment will be at their own expense).
To benefit from spa treatments in agreement with the National Health Service, it is necessary to apply to your general practitioner, pediatrician or specialist for the issuance of a prescription (red prescription) with the diagnosis and the course of spa treatment to be carried out.
