Yet another advertising campaign is underway, promoted in these days by a commercial operator, in which the word “THERMAL” appears to be equivocally stated, even placed side by side with services of a nature completely unrelated to spa treatments and services as identified by L.323/2000.

Federterme, the Confindustria member organization representing Italian spas, renews its call to the Authorities to be vigilant about the misuse of the word “TERME” – a term protected by the aforementioned industry law – and recommends that all Users carefully check that spa services and benefits are provided by qualified entities that meet the legal requirements.

Federterme witnesses with deep concern the dissemination, with increasing frequency, of advertisements that promote the activities of facilities that actually provide beauty services, non-spa water parks, generalist wellness centers and make improper use of the word “THERMAL”, unduly juxtaposed with other terms or the company name.

Many enterprises thus attempt to circumvent the regulations governing the operation and quality requirements of the national spa service and cause confusion among Users.

We remind you to protect the Users of the Italian Thermal System, known worldwide for its tradition, water quality and service guarantee, that the word TERME can be used only by those centers in possession of the authorizations, ministerial and regional, referred to in Law 323 of 2000, verifiable at each authorized thermal center.
