Monticelli Spa has always cared about children’s health.
The bromine and iodine-salt water at Monticelli Spa is valuable in the treatment and prevention of chronic airway and ear inflammation and allergic disorders in children.
The therapies performed, which are very effective and generally well tolerated by all children, intervene with anti-inflammatory and anti-catarrhal action with immediate positive effects on quality of life and sleep.
Within the spa there are several areas dedicated to children, starting with the large pediatric inhalation ward, equipped with customized inhalation stations.
Spaces include an environment for collective wet sprays, equipped with slides and games to combine treatment and fun, as well as ENT clinics where insufflations can be performed.
Young patients can carry out treatments with the utmost serenity, in bright, colorful and cozy wards, accompanied by specialized caregivers.
Children can have a course of spa treatment as early as 2 years of age, upon evaluation by the pediatrician or specialist.
The cycle of inhalation or rhinogenic deafness cures is generally carried out over 12 days, preferably consecutive, after an admission medical examination by the spa physician.
Thermal water cures are completely natural therapies with no contraindications, generally well tolerated by all children, including those with allergies.
Monticelli’s salso-bromo-iodine and sulfur springs, used in purity, transformed into small particles or in the form of gas, gently intervene at several levels, from the first airways to the bronchi, as well as in the nasal mucous membranes or, in the case of ear inflammatory processes, up to the Eustachian tubes.
In addition to the quality of its two waters, Terme di Monticelli can count on one more ally, the large , centuries-old park surrounding the spa, with large lawns and spaces for outdoor play and oxygenation, before and after treatments.
Children are often prone to upper and lower respiratory tract disorders such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, and bronchitis.
Inhalation treatments help treat and prevent these very common problems.
The basic cycle of inhalation cures, consisting of inhalation and aerosol, as well as micronized particle pulverization, is carried out at Monticelli Spa.
The efficacy of inhalation cures, scientifically documented: thesoothing and anti-inflammatory effect of the water at Terme di Monticelli prevents and improves sneezing and nasal itching over time, reducing the feeling of obstruction.
The result?
An improvement in the child’s quality of life, with a reduction in recurrences and medication intake already after the first rounds of treatment.
Accumulation of phlegm in the ear can generate even chronic ear disorders and diseases such as otitis or catarrhal otitis, especially in children.
These include rhinogenic deafness,which can be effectively treated with spa treatments.
The sulfurous and bromine and iodine-salt waters of Monticelli Spa act on the mucous membranes of the upper airways by thinning mucus with an important cleansing, decongesting, anti-inflammatory , and immunomodulating, that is, immune system stimulating action.
Intervening in a timely manner to minimize “disability” and pain is critical to avoid worsening the situation.
Audiometric examinations and ENT specialist examinations are performed at the spa, as well as humages and inhalation treatments, combined with pediatric politzer cycles and endotympanic insufflations.
The National Health Service allows every child to have one course of spa treatment each year.
To get treatment under the agreement, simply consult your pediatrician or specialist to evaluate the most appropriate course of treatment and obtain a red prescription that states the diagnosis and one of the following prescriptions:
